The I Ching (易经, also written Yi Jing or Book of Changes) is one of the oldest Chinese classics, more than three thousand years old. It began as a divination system of 64 hexagrams — each made of six lines that are either solid (yang) or broken (yin) — and became a cornerstone of Chinese philosophy.
Each hexagram carries a judgment and six line texts. When you cast a reading, the lines that shift (changing lines) transform your hexagram into another one, giving a picture of how a situation is developing, not just a snapshot.
